The City of Seoul expanding Ttareungi(따릉이) infrastructure
Introduce 6,000 units by next year, expand rental stations and cradles
An additional 3,000 Ttareungi public bicycles will be introduced by the end of this year and 3,000 next year, respectively. If this happens, the operating scale of Ttareungi is expected to expand to 43,500 units next year. Along with the expansion of bicycles, 250 rental stations and 3,000 cradles will be installed.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 22nd that it would introduce 6,000 Ttareungi units (3,000 units this year, 3,000 units next year) through the ‘Ttareungi Infrastructure Expansion Plan’ and simultaneously improve safety and operational efficiency.
In addition, we plan to create a bicycle policy together with citizens as policy participants rather than simply users of Ttareungi, such as continuing the project to install a rental station for citizens through the Ttareungi app.
The city of Seoul has expanded Ttareungi infrastructure, including bicycle rentals, through intensive financial investment, and is currently operating 37,500 bicycles and 2,500 rental stations.
